Chuck Bravedy is a Fuckhead (.com)

Is there a law against being a sellout?  No.
Is there a rule against being a cowardly bitch?  No.
Is there a commandment against being a total fuckhead?  No.
Are there guys out there that need to go the fuck away and shut the fuck up for all time?  Yes.

Enter Chuck Bravedy.

Let me introduce you to Chuck “Bravedy” a former shitbag SEAL who has now published his bullshit bible-beater ideas into a book.  It would be bad enough that this idiot was simply writing a book to express his own personal thoughts and ideas (which are a ridiculous pile of garbage), but the fact that he is marketing this thing with his trident has become the latest pathetic expression in a long string of failures.

This is a guy whose values are as enigmatic as his literary conclusions. He told his girlfriend about other platoon members infidelity thereby causing conflict within the unit. Had severe bible-beater issues where he would try to refrain from drinking and going to strip clubs with the team because it defined him as by living by the book. Was a lackluster performer who exhibited bigger picture problems aside from being just a dumb new guy. The only thing that saved his career was when he was wrecked on his motorcycle. He was with his girlfriend on the back of his bike, and a cop car pulled behind him. He decided to try and lose the cops by speeding away. He lost control of the bike, hit a fire hydrant, cracked his stupid pelvis open and was hospitalized for a long time. At the time his platoon was already actively documenting his actions and performance in an effort to get him kicked out of the SEAL teams but because of the accident and his long hospital stay he was saved from this fate. After the accident he then fell into the role of “old new guy” where he had been at the team for a couple years without ever having done a goddamn thing. Finally deploying to Iraq he found himself relegated to maintaining prisoners and being a real homo. The high point of his dismal career is probably when he was hit by an i.e.d. in Iraq. Although this may appear to many to be “combat” it is the Iraq equivalent to getting a blowout on the interstate. In no way does this validate his skills or opinions, it simply means that he had a near miss.

Chuck “Bravedy” (possibly the most retarded pen-name of all time) is a complete sellout.  Chuck Bravedy is a former SEAL who was a total failure in the SEAL teams and was never a real operator overseas because he was so fucked up.  He has come back from Iraq, after working as a prison guard (in no way a SEAL capacity) and apparently thinks he has all the answers.  Chuck has recently published all his idiotic ideas into a book entitled ‘Iraq in My Eye’. Possibly the lamest title for a book to ever be conceived.

Chuck Bravedy is a fuckhead.  He is in no way a spokesman for the SEAL teams or the Navy.  He is virtually uneducated (as if you couldn’t determine this through his pathetic writing).  He was operationally segregated overseas because of his inability to do the job of a Navy SEAL and yet he is marketing his new book as the word of truth spoken through SEAL lips.  His book is a sad and pathetic jumble of peacenik rhetoric and Christian ideals gone tragically out of control.

More than anything else though, Chuck Bravedy is a sellout.

By “selling out” I directly refer to the compromising of one’s integrity, morality and principles in exchange for money, ‘success’ or other personal gain. It is commonly associated with attempts to increase mass appeal or acceptability to mainstream society. A person who does this, as opposed to following the original path he laid (or claimed to lay) out for himself, is labeled a sellout and regarded with disgust and immediate loss of respect. Selling out is seen as gaining success at the cost of credibility. Every person, from the entertainment industry, to political revolutionaries, to a Bohemian who suddenly switches to a socially conservative lifestyle, could be a sellout.  A former US Navy SEAL commando who tries to use his credential as a SEAL (despite the fact that he was a complete fuckhead in that community and never saw one second of actual combat) IS a sellout.  That is why the grassroots political movement being known as “Chuck Bravedy is a Fuckhead(.com)” got started.

In various political movements, such as the communist and anarchist movements, a “sellout” is someone or some group who pretends to adhere to a sincerely pro-working class ideology, only to follow these claims up with actions that directly contradict them and that may even go so far as to actually or implicitly support capitalism.  For Chuck Bravedy the compromising of these ideals expresses itself as preaching peace and love in an atmosphere of conflict and violence.

“Use the time insurgents are in military prisons to educate and indoctrinate them about the value of human life, about why peace is preferable to violence, about differences between Mid-East and Western cultures, and about ways to raise their standard of living.”

You are a complete idiot. Shut the fuck up!  Hey, I have a great idea Chuck, let’s take men who are willing to blow themselves up to kill us and sit them down and have a nice talk with them and convince them that the US isn’t that bad.  You are a fucking MORON!  Wake up you stupid fuckhead!

I did a little exploring on Chuck’s website http://iraqinmyeye.com/. The website itself was created and moderated by Chuck himself – not his publisher – which is only interesting because the thing is basically filled up with unintelligible rhetoric smashed between pictures of Chuck in his gear (which he never truly operated in) and gigantic Navy SEAL tridents (which he should never have worn).  This chest pounding self-expression can only be categorized as the acts of a small and desperate ego that endlessly hungers for attention and confirmation.  Aside from making myself sick by reading his lamely constructed thoughts, I also came up with some interesting information.

“The findings of Chuck Bravedy are revealed in this book for the enlightenment of the general public.”

“After conducting research while stationed in Iraq, Bravedy developed this three-prong plan to win the war in Iraq:”

First of all, “findings”… “research”!?!?!?!? You were on deployment you fuckhead, when did you have time to conduct “research”!?  When did you gain the ability to produce “fingings”!? Chuck, let me ask you, do you even know what “research” is?  You only have a highschool diploma for fuck’s sake!  Lets just take a minute to see what qualifications you have that validate this “research”.

Chuck Bravedy – Life of a Navy SEAL

A native of Canton, Ohio, Chuck Bravedy was not any more special than any other Midwesterner when graduating from High School – with maybe one exception. Chuck wanted to be a Navy SEAL. –not any more than any other… kind of says it all right there.  On this point Chuck I must agree with you wholeheartedly, you’re not special. If Chucks life goal was truly to be a SEAL then why is he out of the SEAL teams right now?

The son of a pastor and nurse, Bravedy had read about the SEALs and when it was time to consider military life decided he wanted to be a SEAL more than anything else. After surviving the rigors of SEAL training, Bravedy was assigned to combat duty in Iraq – patrolling city streets to roust out suspected insurgents and terrorists.  – Pastor and a nurse!? So what defines your motivation to be a SEAL.  rebellion against the ideals of your parents or a true intention to express your patriotism through excellence?  And what about that deployment to Iraq, you were assigned to watch the fucking prisoners because you were so fucking useless, don’t try and brag about shit that you were assigned to as a punishment.

While on duty in Iraq, Bravedy observed several disturbing trends and began to research life in military prisons, the unique spiritual grip of the Koran and mosques on Iraqi men, and how the military tied the hands of its professional, combat-ready forces. – Your ideas are like a bowl of spaghetti, a total fucking mess.  Is this an indictment against Islam by the son of a pastor?  Is this an indictment against the military by a flawed operator who was taken out of operational status for being a fuckhead?  I love the fact that you saw “trends” while performing one very specific and isolated job that had nothing to do with the day to day operations in country.  You are a complete idiot!

The result, upon his return to the states, was the publishing of Iraq in My Eye: Memoirs of a Navy SEAL. In the book, Bravedy shares with Americans the complexities and intricacies of the war in Iraq and reveals three major steps that could turn around occupation of Iraq and bring about a peaceful withdrawal. – Where does a highschool grad get the education and training to think that he has the solution to this bullshit in Iraq?  You spend 6 months guarding prisoners and suddenly you have all the fucking answers!?  Shut up you fucking idiot!  Then you stamp “NAVY SEAL” all over the place to try and validate this pile of shit you call a book.  Fuck off you FUCKHEAD!  This reads like the pathetic angst of a confused and unintelligent man struggling more with internal issues and inadequacies than the thoughtful and learned investigation that it feebly attempts to portray.

Now married and living in Canton, Ohio, Bravedy is active in his church and is spending some of his time volunteering for the American Red Cross. He is considering undergoing training to become a paramedic or similar life-saving position with the fire department.  – Awww, a happy ending, how sweet.  Not surprising is that this jackass is now a church-going, red cross volunteering, wanna-be life-saving homo.  I wonder if all the people in your home town know how big of a loser you really are!?  I bet you’ve lied to them endlessly about your struggles and frustrations in Iraq when the real problem is you struggling with your own identity and the fact that you are a piece of shit SEAL and should never have worn the trident in the first place.

But Bravedy’s dream is to assemble a team and return to Iraq to spend time in military prisons teaching the men there that there is more to life than killing Americans and eradicating western influence. – Naïve and imbecilic.  This sounds more like missionary work to me.  Take the word of god to the people?  Bullshit!

While his tour as a Navy SEAL in Iraq may have ended, his mission to help end violence in that country is still alive and well. – Now that his book is written, his quest to be the world’s biggest sellout pussy Christian fag is still alive and well.

In regard to theater shows, musicals, concerts and other performances, a sell out show is simply a show so popular that all tickets are sold out, and is generally considered as a milestone in terms of success.  In regard to Chuck Bravedy, if success = failure then ‘Iraq in My Eye’ is the milestone in his career path of being a total fuckhead.

For Chuck Bravedy being a sellout has become the culmination of a feeble and ignorant ideology with the blind, arrogant, and confused ego of a man whose career was punctuated with failure after failure.  Only an ego-centric asshole would make the claims asserted in ‘Iraq in My Eye’, especially after having only Chuck’s limited experiences.  This is just garden variety sociological recuperation for marketing purposes.  Recuperation being the process by which “radical” ideas and images are commodified and incorporated within mainstream society, such as the movement for civil rights in the United States or the push for women’s rights. It is the opposite of detournement.

A similar dynamic often occurs in the sphere of punk rock culture: many musical styles developed from punk rock (such as Grunge, Thrash Metal, Metalcore, Post Punk, Indie Rock, New Wave, Emo, and Pop Punk) have garnered mainstream popularity; artists of these genres have signed to major labels, and have become household names in the mainstream culture.

For Chuck, this recuperation means taking a peace-loving standpoint while conducting the role of a soldier.  Similar to the scene in the movie Full Metal Jacket where Joker is wearing a peace pin on his uniform, by making a controversial statement of peace from the standpoint of an elite commando it appears that Chuck is more trying to get attention than to express important ideas. In an atmosphere where Bush hating is more a hallmark of trendiness than true political opinion it’s not surprising that Chuck would choose this venue to express the needs of his confused and cowardly psyche.

‘Iraq in My Eye’ is simply Chuck Bravedy jumping the shark.  Remember the TV show Happy Days?  Well “Jumping the shark” alludes to a scene in when the popular character Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli, on water skis, literally jumps over a shark. The scene was so preposterous that many believed it to be an ill-advised attempt at reviving the declining ratings of the flagging show.

Since then, the phrase has become a colloquialism used by U.S. TV critics and fans to denote the point at which the characters or plot of a TV series veer into a ridiculous, out-of-the-ordinary storyline. Typically, such a show is deemed to have passed its peak. Once a show has “jumped the shark,” fans sense a noticeable decline in quality or feel the show has undergone too many changes to retain its original charm.
Jump-the-shark moments may be scenes like the one described above that finally convince viewers that the show has fundamentally and permanently strayed from its original premise. In those cases, they are viewed as a desperate and futile attempt to keep a series fresh in the face of a decline in ratings. In other cases, the departure or replacement of a main cast member or character or a significant change in setting changes a critical dynamic of the show.

The term has also evolved to describe other areas of pop culture, including movie series, music or acting celebrities, or authors for whom a drastic change was seen as the beginning of the end or marking the moment the subject is “past its peak”. These changes are often attempts to attract their fans’ waning attention with over-the-top statements or increasingly overt appeals to sex or violence. As this idiom grows in popularity, it is being broadened to simply describe any decline in viewer appeal for the TV series in question, without requiring a significant “jump the shark” moment as justification.  Even though Chuck is not a TV series, with this book he has essentially jumped the shark. He has sold out. He has compromised his expressed values (no matter which way you look at it) and is in decline. To bandage his ego in the vacuum of attention that appears to be a constant requirement for Chuck, he has written this book and marketed it on the reputations of other men who serve their country with honor, dedication, excellence, and professionalism – values that Chuck will never know.

In conclusion, being a Navy SEAL is an amazing and challenging job.  The training is intense and the job itself requires the highest degree of dedication and professionalism.  Building an aggressive mindset and an alpha male personality-type is useful for the men to complete the SEAL mission, it is an important aspect of the job, but it does not mean that simply because you are a SEAL you are always right. Unfortunately in Chuck Bravedy this mentality either fed or spawned a massive ego.  Men who are trained to do the impossible can start to think that they can do anything if they do not posses the professionalism, maturity, and psychological stability to keep themselves in check, phychologists call this an observing ego.  Chuck Bravedy is a tragic example of a man who thinks that he is better than everyone else while the facts of his life and career speak to the contrary.  Being a Navy SEAL does not mean that you have the answers to all the worlds’ problems.  Being in Iraq does not mean that you know the solution to the problems there.  And more than anything else, being a cowardly christian peacenik who was a failure as a SEAL operator and barely maintains the mental capacity to put coherent phrases together does not grant you unlimited authority to speak for the SEAL community or market your idiotic ideas using the SEAL reputation.

“There is a delight that happens when someone chooses to ask for love in the face of anger.” – Chuck Bravedy

Chuck Bravedy you are a FUCKHEAD!

Slavenation.com has recently come into possession of an email sent by one of Chuck’s former SEAL coworkers to Chuck regarding his book.  This person also emailed Chuck about how lame his website was.  The pictures used to be gigantic.  Massive jpeg shrines erected by Chuck to himself.  There were also SEAL tridents framing every page (many still remain).   Here is the email sent to Chuck by another SEAL he used to work with:

Subject: Chuck Bravedy!!

I would like to state my total disgust for Chuck “Bravedy’s” book.  This book undermines everyone who has ever worn a trident, it’s disgraceful to the teams, Team Three, and my buddies who lost their lives over there.  There could not have been a worse representative for the SEAL teams than Chuck Bravedy.  Chuck was a one platoon wonder and a half ass team guy.  He did one Iraq deployment and now he’s got it figured out.  While he was hanging out in prisons being touchy feely with prisoners, some of us were actually out there doing real work, getting shot at and getting our hands dirty.  If Chuck wanted to write a book on his opinions, he should have left the ‘SEAL’ bit out-that would have been perfectly ok, but no he had to exploit the teams.  All the other SEAL books out there have been written by guys that have legit experiences and for the most part a reputation that precedes them.  Chuck has neither.  I would never spend a cent on this book and a lot of my comrades feel the same way.  Every penny you guys make is because of the ‘SEAL’ name and those that earned ‘their’ trident as well as those who gave their lives for the teams.  This book is a total embarrassment.
