Mommie Dearest

It’s fucking mother’s day today. This is what we like to call a “hallmark holiday”. Totally made up with no authentic historical basis except for the fact that the greeting card industry decided that a fucking bullshit day called mothers day would sell more cards and shit. I don’t like being manipulated. You know people have these expectations too, especially mothers, and they will never tell you what the fuck they are thinking except to give you a guilt trip when you fail to live up to them. I know that even though my madre and me are basically not on speaking terms these days and even though we can’t seem to see eye to eye on stuff that she would be disappointed and hurt if I didn’t do something for her on this made-up capitalism day. So I made the gesture, I sent a card, you know.. played the part of the good loving son. You know I feel like you could be a kick-ass dude and have a great relationship with your mother with none of these trappings of modern life. I mean people shouldn’t get disappointed if they don’t get a card on mothers day and stuff like that. It’s just a made up day anyway. It’s like we made up this fake thing and everyone has to do it even though it is utterly ridiculous and if you don’t then we are gonna categorize you negatively and define our relationship with you in direct regard to your lack-luster performance on this completely contrived and false “performance” day.. all because we want to make money off you and the best way to do that is to make you think that you are fat and ugly and smelly and that the only way to be a good person and get laid is to buy all this shit from us to try and fill the bottomless holes of your inadequacies as we define them. HOLY FUCK! another rant gone completely off the tracks. Happy mothers day everybody, summer is almost here!
